I made a quick inspiration trip to Tate Liverpool at the weekend to see the Transmitting Andy Warhol exhibition. The byline "discover the man who changed the modern art world" is no exaggeration. Upon seeing the breadth of his work - from book covers to film, you are struck how different the course of Pop Art would have been had Andy Warhol not existed.
In addition to all the familiar works such as Marilyn, Brillo packaging, soup cans and dollar signs, there were loads of pieces I'd never seen before. I loved the repeating matches print and admire how he moves from screen printing to painting and back again, blurring the boundaries between commercial art and fine art.
Pop art textiles are always on trend in my opinion. Seeing this show has renewed my enthusiasm for all things Pop.
